TRISTAN TERRYN
When were you at ABS? I was at ABS between 1990 and 1996.
Why did you go to ABS? I came to ABS because of my parents, who wanted me to acquire a bilingual education, while taking advantage of the international feel of the school.
Where did you go after ABS? After ABS I transferred to a Belgian public school, the Koninklijk Lyceeum.
What did you do after high school? After high school I went travelling in Argentina and Bolivia for six months. This journey defined my university studies. I went on to obtain a Bachelor in Political Science at the University in Ghent and a Master in International Relations. After that I decided that I wanted to pursue my interest in Latin America further and entered the Institute for Higher Latin American Studies at Paris III Sorbonne Nouvelle for an extra Masters. I'm currently doing a Master 2 Pro in Economical Relations at the same institute.
What are you planning to do now? My studies are supposed to prepare me for a professional career in either a multinational corporation, a governmental institution or an ONG. I have not yet decided which path I would prefer. But I am planning to continue educating myself further and answer to the inquisitveness incited by ABS.
What do you remember most of ABS? I remember the challenging nature of ABS, and the very high quality of teachers I was lucky to have. I remember Mrs. Marshall, Mrs. Martin, Mrs. Farn vividly, and will never forget their honest evaluation of me and their ever motivating approach. The close -knit nature of the school, due to its relative small size makes for a very personal and rewarding experience. I have always felt that ABS gave me a head start in my academic career.
